Philosophy
My philosophy starts with the basic philosophy that any professional teacher ought to embrace. Namely, to contribute to humanity by helping enrich young minds so they can go forward and make their own contributions in whatever arena of life they so choose.
I go a step further than this basic philosophy. In enriching young minds, I believe my greatest responsibility is to teach children to think and reason for themselves. I believe in helping children to become independent, not dependent.
My approach to teaching is to create an atmosphere where children want to learn and are excited about learning. Learning is an interactive experience between teacher and students and among the students themselves. It is not a master/servant relationship where the teacher dictates and the student responds. Rather, it is a situation where the teacher is more of a coach, directing and participating, and where the students also participate as learning team members.
I recognize the uniqueness and individuality of each human being. Therefore, I do not compare one child against another. I allow each child to be a full blown individual, and I compare that scholar only against his/her own potentials and achievements.
